PeaceCorps Volunteers living in Moldova, in collaboration with local organizations, have planned a unique experience to celebrate 20 years of volunteering in this country. A group of us will be walking “prin Moldova,” visiting different towns and villages along two 150 km routes to promote volunteerism and join in community events. We hope to encourage Moldovans to engage with their communities and to appreciate the benefits that volunteerism brings to both the giver and the receiver.citiți această pagină în limba română
The walk will kick-off June 15th. Some of us will start in the northern border town of Sorocca and the rest will begin walking from Taraclia. We will meet in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau, for a large, public celebration. Every day we will journey between 6-13 Miles (9.5-21 km) then participate in events in the evenings in the hosting local towns.
We are excited about this journey and the many people we will meet along the way. And, of course, we hope to make a difference in this wonderful country that has hosted American Volunteers for two decades now. Thank you Moldova!
